Solar array and battery storage serving a remote northern community at dusk

Indigenous-owned · Canada

Energy sovereignty is built, not granted.

HyVera brings new energy technologies to Canada's First Nations and develops the projects communities own — the assets, the operations, and the revenue they generate.

Every litre is freight. Fuel for a remote community is bought, shipped, stored and burned — and moving it costs more than the energy inside it.

Generation has no supply chain. Built in the community and owned by it, a clean energy asset removes every link at once — and the revenue stays where the power is made.

Why now

The money and the mandate are already here. Someone has to build.

Canada spent a decade building the policy and financing to move remote communities off diesel. What's scarce is a credible Indigenous partner who can carry a project from first conversation to commissioned asset.

6–10×

What remote communities pay for electricity and heat compared with the rest of Canada.

Stat 1
~170

Remote Indigenous communities in Canada, most still reliant on diesel for power and heat.

Stat 2
20×

Faster clean electricity deployment in remote communities over the past decade than the one before it.

Stat 3
$10B

Federal Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program, backing community equity in major projects.

Stat 4

Roughly three quarters of community-scale clean electricity projects built in remote Canada are already wholly or majority Indigenous-owned. The ownership model isn't a theory we're proposing — it's the one that works.

What we do

Match the technology to the community. Then make it theirs.

We're technology-agnostic on purpose. Communities have different loads, sites and constraints — so we bring what fits, not what we happen to sell.

Find

We source energy technologies ready to leave the lab

On-demand hydrogen, long-duration storage, solar and microgrid integration — companies with hardware that has run in real conditions and no Canadian route to market.

Build

We develop the project alongside the community

Siting, engagement, permitting, offtake and the capital stack — grants, federal tax credits and Indigenous financing assembled so ownership is real, not a royalty cheque.

Compound

Each project makes the next one easier

Every deployment teaches us what performs in the field and strengthens the channel. We reinvest what we earn into the next round of community projects.

Get in touch

Most of what we're building isn't on this page.

That's deliberate. Tell us which side of the table you're on and we'll take it from there.

We'd like to listen first.

No proposal, no product, no pitch deck. A conversation about how your community gets its power today, what it costs, and whether there's something worth building together.

What a first conversation looks like
  • We come to you, and we follow your protocol
  • Anything you share stays yours — we say that plainly and we mean it
  • We're honest if energy isn't your community's real priority right now
  • If there's a fit, the next step is a partnership your community owns

We'll reply within two business days. Nothing you send is shared outside HyVera.
